YASNI is dedicated to assisting victims and survivors of child abuse and neglect. There is also a focus on providing counseling and support to children and families who have been impacted by various other traumas as a result of the abuse. We also focus on educational outreach to bring awareness to child abuse and other kinds of abuse to educate the community and help prevent this kind of trauma from continuing to be prevalent in our communities. YASNI diligently serves the county of Los Angeles, and we look forward to providing services in other neighboring counties such as Orange, Riverside, and San Bernardino in the near future.
Therapists are available to offer individual, family, and group sessions. Children can be treated for various kinds of trauma at YASNI such as:
Physical abuse or assault, sexual abuse, neglect, bullying, emotional abuse or psychological maltreatment, victim to community violence, and traumatic grief or separation.
Advocates and staff at the agency will assist children and families in obtaining information and directing victims to other organizations and programs which may cover the cost of mental health services for victims of child abuse.
YASNI offers services to all members of the community who may be in need no matter what level of income. The program is structured in this manner in order to provide affordable services to every community member who has a need.
Empowerment Groups:
At YASNI, we want everyone to feel empowered and to take pride in their identities including their gender and sexual orientation. The confidence and personal growth discovered in these empowerment programs are invaluable and our hope is that every child will take the values in lessons learned and grow to become leaders in their own communities.
Prevention and Awareness Campaigns:
YASNI will run a variety of campaigns with the initiative to create awareness, educate and improve, and to prevent negative issues which exist within the communities.
Community Education and Outreach:
YASNI conducts outreach services at local schools, churches, libraries, small businesses, and health and wellness fairs in an effort to engage and educate community members. We want to bring about awareness of the issues that saturates our community and to assist in eliminating the stigma associated with mental health among children. YASNI provides lectures and presentations for organizations and groups upon request and is able to provide continuing education, growth, learning, and empowerment along with completion certificates to professionals.
Patient Victim Advocate:
We believe each person has a right to their safety and justice in the legal system. Court advocates will assist clients by accompanying them to court dates, answering questions regarding cases, and ensuring that they receive the services required in order to gain closure and begin their healing process.
Resources and Referrals:
We do understand some clients may have different needs which the agency diligently seeks to fulfill. In the event a client should require services that are not rendered by our organization, our highly trained and skilled case managers will provide information regarding additional programs and services.
